Charcoal Portrait of General Robert E. Lee

This is a commission of a charcoal portrait on paper of General Robert E. Lee, much like the title of the blog implies.   I don’t really have much to say other than there are obvious errors to me, but I can live with that and I have disliked charcoal for a very long time and have resisted using it, but it is beginning to grow on me more with these charcoal commissions I have been doing…and I need the drawing practice…doing mostly paintings, I do not really just draw anymore much less a finished drawing and it is something that I miss.

And there will be no posting with a painting for March 2014…I am considering this portrait to be the work for March.
